Who says you need two of these?
I did it - late last night I finished the corded petticoat! I am really proud of myself for doing it all my hand, and even more impressed by the shape of it when it's done....




Ohhhh - and even more exciting (to me) is I orded my super expensive copy of The Art of Dress yesterday, and I orded Fitting and Proper (since it is back in print, even if you can't order it from Amazon.com yet). I orded the one book from Washington State so I'm really hoping it will be here this week. I want to work on my 18th century, but I want to see all the pictures in that book as well - before I start cutting and sewing....

Thank you! And that's definitely a when. That gives the shape seen in so many 1850s fashion plate. I have to have it! The first corded petticoat will be used for earlier things :)

My other corded petticoat is going to be retired to the 1830's and 40's as well - this one just makes me giddy!

Thanks! Me too! I love that petticoat - now I just need to make the flounced petticoat and skirt for the dress to go wtih it!
